i just moved into my own apt. it’s very small, a kitchen, bedroom, office, living room, bathroom. I want to start decorating but soemtimes i just get so overwhelmed cuz i do not know where to start. This is my first place so im starting from scratch. Should I make the whole apt blend with the the rooms or should each room have it’s own theme? Any helpful ideas?

Start with the drapes, and work your way out!
pick up several decorating magazines. look through them and mark the pages that you like. Go back through the magazines and see which elements the pages you marked have in common. It might be the wall color or the furniture style or the furniture arrangement. Go from there.
One room should flow into the next. The best way to achieve this is to use one common color. I use small touches of black and that alone brings unity to all the rooms.
You don’t have to have ‘themes’ for any of your rooms. You don’t want it to look like a showroom. You want a retreat that you are comfortable in. Find pieces you like and use them…even if the rules say you shouldn’t!
The most important thing is to have fun! Make the space uniquely yours.

Start with your bedroom, since that is where you’ll be spending your nights relaxing nad getting ready and what not. Go pick up a few decorating magazines, flip thorugh those. See what you like. Go to a paint store, pick out colors nad waht not.
